After years of discussing, finally it was my first experience hiking on Broga Hill with the gang on last Sunday :) I was so excited till I slept at 1am and woke up at 3am :-/ It was really killing with only 2 hours of sleeping. I understand that not enough sleeping will made the hiking journey is suffering but what to do. I still have to take the challenge :P
After approximate an hour of driving from KL, we arrived the destination around 530am. We wanted to see the sun rise that's why we were so early there. The entrance of Broga Hill is quite obscure as there isn't any signboard but there is a rabbit farm that can guide you to the entrance because it is just opposite. There is a parking space provided with RM2 per entrance or either you park your vehicle at the roadside without paying. haha.
Before the day, I did some research so that we can use the easiest way reach to the peak! Oh well, we started our journey in dark with a torchlight. We spent about an hour or less to reach at the first peak. Although it was tiring like mad but once you're at the peak, you can totally feel so refreshed and excited while waiting for the sun rises!
The sky was still waiting to bright! So, was it worth to wake up so early to Broga Hill? I would have to say it depends. It was certainly an experience walking the trail in absolutely pitch black darkness with only a small glimmer of light.
We're waiting so patiently for the sky turning bright but we can't see the sun rise. It was quite disappointed.
The amount of people is getting more. It was so crowded on the Sunday.
The view was breathtaking and the weather was windy too.
We rested and took some photos before the sun started to get warm, we decided to head downwards. It is another tough journey to go back down as it is very steep and slippery. The journey down certain slopes were stiff (45 degrees or more perhaps). We was like playing slide cause we really can't even stand properly. I hurt my hand palm but luckily it didn't bleed :'( So climbing down was more dangerous more tiring than climbing up.
Once we were reached to the parking space, the sky started to rain. How lucky we were. We got into the car quickly and went for breakfast :) Initially, they wanted to have Kajang Sate but we were too early to be there. So, we headed to Puchong for DimSum and went home to have a good rest.
Things to bring and beware of:
- torch light (each people one is the best!)
- towel and clothes to change
- Water but not too much (No toilets!)
- Wear sports shoes
- Snacks or chocolates
- Climbing gloves (optional)
- Get enough sleep the night before
- Don't rush up or down. There are cliffs along the path.
Honestly, today my whole body was painful due to less exercise but I will definitely go again and bring along my camera to shoot more of the beautiful scene, also for watching the sunrise or sunset :) :)
It's a great adventurous day and good hiking experience! :D
Whoever lives in KL, should have more and more healthy activities ;)
